A Living Memory

The strength and resilience of Holocaust survivors and their descendants exemplify the extraordinary power of the human spirit. Their ability to overcome, rebuild, and thrive after such immense suffering is truly inspiring. My parents’ experiences in Nazi-era Hungary, coupled with the tragic loss of three grandparents and many relatives at Auschwitz, have profoundly shaped my perspective. These personal connections have led me to question how such atrocities could happen and how their effects continue to resonate today.

A Living Legacy

In Montreal, my family and I are part of a vibrant community of Holocaust survivors and their descendants. For us, the Holocaust is not just a historical event but a living memory that shapes our conversations, relationships, and sense of identity. Honouring the past means reflecting on it and continuing the legacy of those who came before us. By preserving their stories, we maintain a deep connection to our heritage.

Throughout my life, I have attempted to understand this legacy more deeply. I have meticulously documented and explored my family’s history in Hungary, Israel, and beyond, discovering how our story intertwines with many others.
